While thousands of Toronto residents will continue to organize against the proposed cuts to daycares, recreation centres, libraries and TTC routes among other important services and assets the elimination of good jobs in the Toronto public service in support services such as administration, clerical, IT, cleaning and security will not get the same attention. And not only are these good jobs that KPMG proposes to privatize to low waged private sector companies but the vast majority of support workers are women and this outsourcing agenda will weaken the bargaining position of women across Toronto.
